How You Can Email Faster

No matter how many features social networking offers, email is still the backbone of communication. Whether it is about your career or getting new information, email still leads the way. It is quite normal for someone to have more than one email for different purposes. The more accounts you have the more passwords you need to remember. Over time, this can get very cumbersome.

There comes a time when you spend more time managing your email accounts than actually using email. Here, you will find a few tips that will help you do your email faster and in a more efficient way.

Fewer accounts

If you have opened a dozen accounts for various websites, consider trimming down. For instance, keep one email account for websites where you have to register for an account, but don't need to read their daily or weekly newsletters. Your credit card and other bank accounts can go to a separate email account. This way, when you simplify, you have a firmer grasp of what is going on with your email.

Gmail's Mailto Feature

Gmail has a nifty feature where you can directly send an email through your web browser by clicking on an email link. Many websites have links which automatically fill out your sender and title information. You can set Gmail to be the default email client. You can now directly write your message and send your email within seconds.
Forwarding
If you think that you cannot simply delete your existing email accounts, consider forwarding all your emails to one particular account. You can do this easily from your Gmail, Hotmail or Yahoo Mail settings. Whenever you receive a message on any email account, it will automatically be forwarded to your main account, where you can reply to it, delete it or do anything you want. This is a convenient way to access multiple accounts using a single account.

Email Client

Email clients have been around for more than 40 years now. Their usage has declined since webmail became more popular. However, they are still a viable option when you have many accounts to handle. There is a reason why Outlook is so popular with professionals. It allows them to quickly sort messages from different account and manage them.

Even if you are not required to use Microsoft Outlook professionally, there is no reason why you shouldn't use it for your personal email purposes. If you do not have Outlook, you can also consider more lightweight options such as Mozilla Thunderbird and Postbox. If you are on a Mac, the default email client works just as well. There is also an application called Sparrow, which has advanced email functionality.

You need to spend only about 10 minutes to sort out your email and make it simpler by taking one or more of the above steps. You will save many hours each week and be able to breathe easier. Once that it done, you can spend your time doing more important things.
